Mario Anthony Jones

December 9, 1975November 4, 2020

Mario Anthony Jones was born on December 9, 1975 in Kingston, Jamaica. He departed this earth on November 4, 2020. He migrated to the United States to Queens, New York in 1986 with his stepfather - Winston Simon, mother - Aldith Simon, older brother – Leroy, and sisters - Nadine and Clair, aka Rosie. He attended 231 for junior high school and August Martin High School in Queens, New York. Mario was the son of Aldith Simon and Alfred “Tony” Jones. On Mario’s father’s side he had 7 siblings which consisted of four brothers and three sisters. On his mother’s side he had 3 siblings, to include one brother and two sisters. Mario loved his siblings dearly and they loved him as well. In Mario’s eyes, Winston Simon who he fondly called “pops” was more than a stepdad. They shared a deep connection only a father and son have. The love Mario had for his mother, grandmother “Mama” and favorite aunt, Marva was like no other; to him they were the epitome of strength and resilience. Mario was the apple of his mother’s eye and he knew she loved him with an everlasting love. Even at a young age he knew how to charm his way out of being in trouble. “Ditty” is the name he would call his mother when he was being cheeky and playful. Mario found his way to Los Angeles, CA where he pursued a career in the entertainment industry. In LA is where he met his love and soulmate, Cecille-Lou, also known as “Chelou” who was also in the entertainment industry. They were two very fierce, strong individuals. Alone, they led a bona fide lifestyle, impacting the lives of people around them. They were natural hustlers and true to the game. Joining forces led one another to find their perfect match. They complimented each other, her style met his, his energy matched hers. Though they crossed paths many times before dating, they became inseparable once they did. Chelou and Rio were an incredible dynamic duo. A Sagittarius alpha male and Leo alpha female brought Fire and Fire. They made a mighty fine-looking couple who shared common interests in their love for people and their presence brought a unique energy to any room. Mario’s entire family resided mainly in the east coast, so when they met, Chelou’s family quickly became his. Mario easily adapted to the Filipino culture. He was such a family man! They decided to take a trip to New York together, where Chelou had the pleasure of meeting his amazing family. Their families were very similar. There was no denial that the love between both families were certainly there. Eventually, Mario and Chelou started a family of their own. Together they had their first child, daughter - Lourdes Love and only 15 months after came their second child, son - Jeurney. Mario and Chelou got married in a church on April 13, 2013 with friends and family to witness their unity. It was evident by their closest ones how together, they fought a hard, long battle for love. They shared a total of 13 years together. Throughout this time, they experienced a true love for each other and for Christ that some may never experience in a lifetime. Though not every love story ends up to be a fairytale, there were no regrets..just endless stories, memories and meaningful friendships that they discovered along the way. Mario, fondly known as “Rio” by his friends and acquaintances, had a genuine love and care for people. When he gave his life to Jesus, he was loud and proud in sharing his story and love for Christ. Mario loved to laugh but for some reason, he didn’t like to smile. He had such a charismatic and magnetic personality that on those rare occasions when he smiled, he changed the very mood of his surroundings. Once you met him, you couldn’t resist his charm. Your effort to dislike like him was futile. To know Mario is to love him! Mario was kind, thoughtful and generous. He cared about others and had a giving spirit. It was his mission in life to uplift others. His family and friends will tell you that he took care of his own; if he had it, they had it too. He was a free spirit who was blessed with good looks and talent. The regular 9-5 job was not typical for Mario. Throughout his life he worked as a model, actor, businessman and entrepreneur. Independent, driven, self-motivated and extremely creative, Mario was incredible off scene just as he was on. Mario leaves behind his wife Cecille-Lou, children – Le’Shea, Lourdes Love and Jeurney. One might say he had four children because of the love he had for his niece Shanell. They shared a special bond and he loved her like she was his own. He loved his children dearly and would often say his greatest accomplishment was being a dad. Mario is survived by his parents; mother – Aldith, stepfather – Winston, father – Tony, siblings – Leroy, Nadine and Rosie. Siblings on his father’s side include – Al, Mark, Karl, Dave, Camille, Samantha and Shanea. He is extremely loved and adored by his nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and countless friends and family. We will miss Mario in the physical flesh, but his spirit on earth shall forever live. Rest in Power and Love, Mario! Be at peace, fly high and continue to watch over each and every one of us. We miss you and we love you!!

Mario Jones where do I start about this man. He was the most thoughtful, smart ,hustling ,generous ,caring man who loved his family and friends with all his heart . He will missed very much ! I’m still in shock and can’t believe he’s gone. I have so much to say to him and want him to see his kids grow up and tell me all the stories about them. But God had other plans for our friend . May he rest in Heaven and watch over all of us 🙏🏽💜 love you friend 💔😔 till we meet again !

I met Mario through his wife Cecille-lou, her and I used to work for a music publishing company. He looks like a real tough dude but through his tough exterior. He has a warm loving and sweet soul as he shows his love to his wife. He would always visit her at work and I had a pleasure of seeing their true love for each other. Mario, please guide your family and may you Rest In Peace with God.
