
Marshall Reed Parker, Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, World War II Veteran, Friend. 4/12/26-8/9/10. Marshall was long time resident of Manhattan Beach, born in Lennox California to Capt. Edward Parker (of the Hawthorne Police Department) and Nellie Parker and attended Leuzinger High School. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific (Iwo Jima) as a Gunners Mate on the USS HAMLIN (AV-15) and in the Occupation forces in Japan. After the war, he returned home and married his childhood sweetheart, Marion Davidson. He worked at the El Segundo Standard Oil Refinery for 38 years. He and Marion raised four children. He will be remembered for woodworking, building his home in Manhattan Beach in 1952, family vacations, fishing, BBQ's and a glass of wine. Survived by his wife Marion, children-Marylyn (Ron) Wallace, Susan (Michael) Reese, Martin (Kathy) Parker, and Mark (Margot) Parker. Grandchildren Chuck, Michelle, Erin, Billy, Sarah, Alicia, Amy and Alora, and fourteen great - grandchildren. Services will be held at American Martyrs Church, Manhattan Beach on Saturday, August 14th at 10:00am followed by graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City. Reception at the family home at 2:00pm.
