Browning, Mary Ann passed from this life into eternal life on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at age 74. Born in Los Angeles, she attended Catholic schools and finished her BA in education at Mt. St. Mary's College with a Secondary Teaching Credential in French and English.
Mary Ann later completed her Master's Degree in Education with a Special Education Teaching Credential. She was a fun loving lively woman who loved to folk dance, ski, swim, surf and travel with family. Music lifted her soul; Mary Ann truly enjoyed the fine arts. After marrying in 1956 she and her husband Jim moved to Torrance to raise their coming family. Mary Ann was a treasured wife, wonderful loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, mother-in-law, and faithful friend. Despite her initial stoke that paralyzed her right side at the early age of 47, Mary Ann did not allow it to be an obstacle to the continued stream of love she poured into her family. Despite her daily challenges, she always pushed forward without complaint. With the help of her devoted husband they worked as a team to make their dreams come true.
We will be forever grateful for the love she shared with us all. She is survived by husband James, children Julia, Steven, James and Kathleen; grand children Christina, Ryan, Sebastian, Mike, Gabriel, Athena, Ricky, Alyssa, Patrick and Stuart; great-grand children Victoria and Paxton. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 4 at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Stroke or American Stroke Foundations.
