
Mary was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Martyr Church since 1955, active in the Church Guild while sending her three children to the school. Mary spent her childhood in Phoenix, Arizona, attended business college and during WWII, worked at Luke Air Field all in Arizona. She moved to Sedalia, Missouri to care for a sick aunt and in 1948 met her future husband Joe McEniry. They married in 1950 and went on to have 3 children. The family moved to California in 1955 settling first in Palos Verdes and then Redondo Beach in 1960. Mary was busy with her family and church and in 1970 started work at the Torrance Unified School District. She was a volunteer for Las Amigas with Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Mary lost her husband Joe in 1976 but continued to stay busy with her neighbors, church, coworkers, children and grandchildren. Her kind words, prayers, sense of humor and leadership will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her. Left to mourn her passing is her son Jerry (Margaret) McEniry of Vista, CA; daughter Mariann McEniry of Redondo Beach, CA; son Mark (Karen) McEniry of Seal Beach, CA; grandchildren Anne McNulty, Colleen McEniry, Catherine Day, Angela Glassman, Christopher Glassman, Celeste Wilson, Ryan McEniry and Sean McEniry. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Francis "Joe" McEniry, and parents Josiah and Concha Bowers. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, May 30th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCormick Mortuary in Redondo Beach, 1998 So. PCH with Vigil Services beginning at 7:00 PM in the Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 31, at 2:00 PM at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, 1900 So. Prospect Avenue in Redondo Beach. A reception will immediately follow in the church's hall. Burial services will be held Monday, June 2nd at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA.
