Melanie Dawn Bawolski

Melanie passed away March 1, 2012 after a long and courageous fight with cancer. Melanie was born at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California on July 26, 1956. She was raised in Redondo Beach, California and graduated from Mira Costa High School. She also attended Phoenix University. Soon after high school graduation she went to work for the City of Carson, and worked in the Human Resources Department for 35 years until her retirement in December of 2011.

Melanie loved to travel, especially to visit relatives and friends all over the country. She loved music, and attended many concerts during her life. Nothing made her happier than being with her family and friends, and she remained active visiting and vacationing with them throughout her illness.

Melanie is preceded in death by her father, Ray G. Logan, Jr. and by her brother Ray G. Logan III. She is survived by her husband, Michael Bawolski of Lomita, California; her mother, Bette Logan of Redondo Beach, California; by her brothers Luke and Beau Logan; her nieces Elke and Cassidy Logan; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Melanie's name to the American Cancer Society.
