THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul, he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy Rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.

Mike was one of the kindest most decent men I have ever met. I thank God for the journey we shared both in business and on a personal level. I will for ever have a spot in my memory and heart for him.

Mike is my friend and former boss and partner. We worked together from the 1990s through the 2006. I'll miss his music, our golf and friendship. He once played Flight of the Bumble Bee for my family ... simply amazing.

There should be some of his music on this memorial.

Now Mike is with Gary Martin, his business partner that passed before him.

My heart goes out to Donna, Mike and Lisa, your spouses and children.

Mike was an awesome friend and musical genius. He inspired me to become the best I could be with my limited formal training. He and our friends Tom Collins, Mike Hanson, Dick Skultin, Odie Odenbrett, Lynn and Lyle Schaeffer helped me to make tremendous strides in my performance skills. Mike introduced me to the competitive realm of the music world and introduced me to a most enjoyable sector of society. I was priviledged to travel all over the Northwest USA, BC, Canada and Lasvegas competitions and shows. We played with each other every opportunity we had. He worked learning my style and I worked learning his techniques. We have many wonderful memories together. I shall continue to cherish them for both of us!
In my mind he remains a consumate gentleman and great musical talent! His family and friends shall remain in my thoughts and prayers! I shall look forward to meeting him again wherever it is that
folks like us go! God Speed Mike! With Greatest Respect and Gratitude! Al

I will greatly miss Mike. As a close friend of Jim Howerton when I first met him, and his fine musicianship when he played with Jim, was an inspiration to us all. He will be indeed greatly missed. Bless his family and all those who knew him. Bye Mike, play well and often in Heaven with Jim and the others before you...Rick Hatley, Auburn, WA

Mike was a dear friend and polka mentor. After seeing me give a 2-hour concert at the Opera House in Philipsburg, Mt., in 2004, he talked me into being his duet partner for the Kimberley 2005 World Old Time Accordion Competition. It was a competition in a niche I knew nothing about. He had won playing before and could see a possibility of getting another trophy. We did win, playing his and Lyle Schaefer's arrangement of the great polka, Meisner Magic, among other numbers. What a year that was with all of its intense practicing in a genre that Mike knew so well. He really changed my life and music that year. In that year and later we stayed at each other's homes a number of times.
I gained great respect for Mike's basic principle's of decency , integrity, loyalty, and of course, musicianship. He leaves an immense hole in our hearts. I talked with him on the phone just 3 weeks ago. We had hoped to see him in a Southern California visit. Love, Janet and Jay Todd

I will dearly miss Mike, he was the first to give me a 12 hour accordion lesson. He was so encouraging to the young people in the accordion world. A wonderful man!
