Nelida Nativida Saez

Later her family moved to Tucuman and then settled in Mendoza. It was there she met the love of her life, Jorge Saez, and they married on April 5, 1973. She worked at the Central hospital of Mendoza and later at the State's Health Department.

In 1977 after many attempts to have a child, her only daughter Georgina was born. Due to government turmoil in 1979 they made the decision to move to the United States. They made Los Angeles their home. After a year they bought their first home in Hawthorne and later moved to their forever home in Redondo Beach.

Nelly found work in the airport transportation industry which allowed her to use her benefits to travel the world with her family. One of her favorite places was the Trevi Fountain in Italy, which she had only read about in books. She was an avid reader and loved writing poetry.

She retired shortly after her two knee surgeries but she never stopped celebrating life with family and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. Everyone she met through work, or friends always remembered her kindness, humour and never ceasing example of Christian love and grace.

She sadly passed in the arms of her loved ones October 22, 2020. She leaves behind her husband Jorge, daughter Georgina, son-in-law Jack Artiga and grandsons Damian and Dorian, and her extended family in Argentina, California and Oregon.

Services will be held on November 2, 2020, 10am at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach. Due to Covid protocols, the family will be reaching out to those who may attend.

Nelida (Nelly) Natividad Bevacqua de Saez nació en Rosario, Argentina en la Navidad de 1937, aunque fue inscripta en el registro civil el día 29 de diciembre.Sus padres fueron Elza Ackermann y Antonio Bevacqua. 

Años después su familia se mudó a Tucumán y luego se instalaron en Mendoza. En esta provincia es donde conoció al amor de su vida, Jorge Saez. Se casaron el 5 de abril de 1973. Trabajó en el Hospital Central como administrativa y también en la Casa de Gobierno.

En 1977 nació su muy esperada hija, Georgina. En 1979 decidieron emigrar a Estados Unidos por la situación económica del país. Se establecieron en la ciudad de Los Ángeles. Después del primer año trabajando allá, primero compraron su casa en Hawthorne y luego una en Redondo Beach donde sabía que se iban a quedar para toda la vida.

Nelly encontró trabajo en compañías aéreas lo que le permitió gozar de los beneficios para viajar por el mundo con su familia. Uno de sus lugares que más quiso conocer fue la Fuente de Trevi en Italia, que conocía por libros. Fue una gran lectora y amaba la poesía.

Se jubiló poco después de su operación en las dos rodillas, pero nunca dejó de celebrar la vida con sus amigos y su familia. Fue una querida hija, hermana, esposa, madre, tía y abuela. Todos los que la conocieron por el trabajo, o amigos recuerdan con mucho cariño su amabilidad, generosidad, su humor y su ejemplo de amor y gracia.

Falleció en los brazos de sus seres queridos el 22 de octubre del 2020. Deja a su esposo Jorge, su hija Georgina, yerno Jack Artiga y sus nietos Damián y Dorian, al resto de su familia en Argentina, California y Oregon.  

Los servicios funerarios serán el 2 de Noviembre del 2020 a las 10 am en Pacific Crest Cementery en Redondo Beach. Por los protocolos de Covid, la familia se pondrá en contacto con los que podrán asistir.
