Nicasia (Casey) Irene Aichroth was born on February 4, 1934 in New York City and passed away on October 2, 2026 in Torrance California. She passed away in the home she loved and lived in for 67 years and in the presence of loved ones holding her hands.
Nicasia’s parents were Italian and she was conceived in Italy but born in the US after her parents immigrated to this country. She has always been close with her two sisters Irene and Mary and they share many memories of their childhood in New York City. When the family moved to Hawthorne California Nicasia took a job as a secretary for an aerospace becoming the primary breadwinner for her family.
Nicasia met Wayne Aichroth soon after moving to California at a young people’s church group, and they married in September 1959 beginning a beautiful love story that continues as she joins him in heaven only 18 days after he passed away.
Nicasia and Wayne had a wonderful life traveling together and raising their 3 children. As was common at the time Wayne worked and Casey ran the household. She was a wonderful and loving mother and always there with a snack and an ear to listen when the kids came home from school. She had a creative spirit and she enjoyed crafting, cooking and shopping.
Nicasia had the biggest heart. She took care of her mother when she had colon cancer and she was always there for her sisters, children, grandchildren and friends in good times and bad. Even though the last 10 years were difficult for her, she never complained and always had a smile on her face. Her life was full of unconditional love and support for others that was reciprocated. A life well lived.
Nicasia is survived by her sisters Irene and Mary, daughters Nina (Mike) and Geri, son Donald (Lindsay), grandchildren Jake (Tiffany), Casey, Adam, Alex, Claire, James and Lara.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held on November 21, 2026 from 12-4pm at the Shapiro residence: 550 24th Street in Hermosa Beach, California.
