
Niki Spelous, a 55 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010. Born in Ankara, Turkey, Niki was 91 when she died. She is survived by three daughters and one son: Angela (Neko) Defterios of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; Jasmine Cunningham of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; Ernestine Cooper of Torrance, CA and Steve (Debra) Hatzias of Redondo Beach, CA; also, a sister, Julia Donlou of Redondo Beach, CA and Tony Cooper. She was blessed with 12 wonderful grandchildren; Joanna, Steven, John, Diane, Niki, Kathleen, Chris, Regina, Tony, Krista, Stacee and Chad; 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was devoted to her family and St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. She was a wonderful cook and pastry maker who enjoyed sharing her talents at the annual Greek Festival fund raiser and other functions for the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anastasia and Iorthani Georgiadis, her husband Stavros, four sisters and son-in-law Dr. Frank Cunningham.A Trisagion will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 4 pm and a funeral service on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:30 am. Both services will be held at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church / Altar Fund.
