Patricia Ann Copley

Patty Copley passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in her hometown of Torrance, CA at the age of 66. Born Patricia Ann Inman on August 23, 1957 to Marvin and Mary Inman, she was the second of four children and the eldest daughter. Fierce, loyal, and loving, Patty was well known to rescue stray animals and was happiest ardently defending her children and nieces/nephews from bad calls made by wayward referees at soccer games - even being removed from the field on occasion. A bit of a rebel at heart, Patty had a deep love for rock and roll music attending many classic concerts over the years. A long time Torrance resident, she was also well known within the craft beer community. Most of all, she embodied the virtues of vitality, industry, and compassion and stood up for right over wrong. Her life will be cherished in the memories of her friends and family.

Patty is preceded in death by her brother (Michael Inman, 1971), mother (Mary Inman, 1992), and father (Marvin Inman, 2013). She is survived by her husband (Michael Copley), daughter (Lauren Meier), son (Stephen Copley), sisters (Deborah Shanks and Janet Inman), Niece (Michelle Shanks) and Nephew (Jasen Shanks) and many loving grandchildren and great-nieces/nephews. In tribute to her great love for animals and flowers, the family is asking for donations of flowers for the service or donations in her name to Noah’s Bark Dog Rescue.
