
A celebration of life Mass for Paul I. Belluz will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1050 W. 163rd St., Gardena, CA 90248. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park following the Mass. Paul passed away Sunday, May 11 at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles, CA after a short illness.
Paul was born in Vancouver, Canada on July 6, 1946. He was raised in Lompoc, CA and attended Lompoc High School graduation in 1964. He attended Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria and received an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts. He received numerous recognitions while serving our country. He was employed by the Los Angeles Unified School District as a bus driver for over 30 years retiring in 2003. He was active in his Catholic Faith, belonging to St. Anthony of Padua parish. He had a passion for reading books, primarily about history and his faith. He also loved collecting records and listening to music. As a young teen, Paul was a history buff who spent many hours mapping out a timeline of historical events. Paul will be remembered for having a near genius mind on historical events, his inquisitiveness, his integrity, kindness and faith in God.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Alicia, his two daughters, Belen (Martin) Belluz-Cerda and Breann Belluz of Gardena, his Sisters, Judy (Augustine) Sulaitis of Westchester, CA Rita Gann Belluz, Clare (Raymond) Sousa, Carol (Larry) Wilks of Lompoc, CA. His brothers, Edward (Teresa) Belluz, Roy (Laura) Belluz, Joseph (Donna) Belluz, Gregory (Sheryl) Belluz of Lompoc, CA. He is also survived by his father and mother in law Ricardo and Celia Gonzalez of Los Angeles, CA. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Evelyn Belluz and his brother Robert (Rose) Belluz.
Viewing will be held Thursday night at McMillan & McCormick Mortuary in Gardena from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M.
