Paula enjoyed living in Redondo Beach, walking and biking the Strand with her husband Jim. They also shared a love for SCUBA, camping, hiking, and road trips in the Porsche. On their honeymoon in Jamaica, Paula and Jim ate dinner in someone’s garage. Resorts and SCUBA in Cancun and Cozumel, Mexico were more to her taste.
Paula and Jim’s favorite getaway was Las Vegas where they would walk the Strip and casinos to people watch. In between, they relaxed, watching TV in their suite.
Paula raised two children who are now young adults. Sean lives in Thousand Oaks, California. Nicole lives in Redondo Beach with Jim.
Paula loved her friends dearly and especially enjoyed weekends with the girls.
There was always time to snuggle with Max, Duke and Lucy - the cats.
When she was not petting the cats, she loved to hold babies.
Paula began her nursing career earning her LVN with Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, California. She loved to care for her oncology patients but it was difficult and sometimes sad. Patients and their families would thank her for the care she provided with hugs she very much appreciated.
On moving to Redondo Beach, Paula earned her RN and began work with Providence Hospital in San Pedro, California in their Emergency Department - a very busy place. After a stint working a computing system implementation, Paula moved back to the Emergency Department at Providence Hospital in Torrance, California. Paula loved to help patients in stress. In turn, she received and loved the thank you notes they sent. Paula made friends wherever she was.
Paula’s passing creates a void in our lives and in our hearts that cannot be filled.
Paula, we love you and miss you and feel you are resting in a better place free of pain and worry.
