Peter F. Mannion a loving father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2003, of natural causes in his home in Torrance. Born to Irish immigrant parents in New Jersey, he served as a Lt. Commander of the United States Navy during WWII. He began his career as a dedicated educator with the Wiseburn School District in 1949 at Sepulveda School. In 1966 he became principal at Richard Henry Dana where he remained until his retirement 29 years later in June 1979. Peter was preceded in death by his wife Ethel (Turner) Mannion and his son Michael Scott Mannion. He is survived by his daughter Cyndi (Mannion) Williams, her husband Dennis Williams, and his three beloved grandsons, Zach, Jake, and Josh Williams who meant the world to him and gave him new life in his last years. There will be a graveside service at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2003, at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd Street, Redondo Beach.
