Phyllis taught school in a single-room school house in Kansas. She loved taking care of her home and garden. She spent many years on the Redondo Beach Election Board, and was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Craig (Robin) Rau of Redondo Beach, CA; sister, Sonja (Jack) Ehrhart of Kansas City, MO; and two grandchildren: Kevin and Eric. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Fred Frauenfelder; her sisters LaVaun and Alice; and her husband of 50 years, Lawrence, who passed away in 1992.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at White and Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach on Tuesday April 6, 2010 from 4 to 8pm. The Service will be held at the Mortuary on Wednesday at 10am. Burial will be private at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
