

Richard A "Dick" Jones Sr., age 72, died peacefully at his house in Santa Clarita on Friday May 13, 2016. He battled several health issues including congenital heart disease and MDS. He passed in his sleep in his favorite chair, just like he had hoped and prayed for.
Born 3/7/1944 in Hawthorne CA to Ralph and Lillian Jones. He attended and graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, CA. Dick served in US Air Force until 1965. On 1/11/1974, he married Graciela de la Fuente and was a devoted husband for 42 years, until his passing.
Dick lived in many places, including Athens Greece, Diamond Bar, Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Santa Clarita CA. and he worked at Garrett AiResearch, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and Reality Executives until retiring in 2006. He was the director of procurement for over 40 years and was a wonderful boss, mentor and man.
Dick will be especially remembered for his jovial personality, "life of the party" style and ability to make everyone feel comfortable and at home around him. He was a great story teller and was friends with all of his children's friends like no other Dad we know. Everyone loved and enjoyed him.
Survivors include his wife Graciela, Sons, Rick and Brian. Daughters Audra, Kristie and Jamie. Daughter in laws, Renee and Cherylina and son in laws Jerry and Rick. He had 7 grandchildren, Brandon, Heather, Ricky, Jeremy, Jordyn, Patrick and Jackson. He loved his children and grandchildren like nobody's business. He also had brothers and sisters that meant the world to him, Audrey, Jack, Nancy, Kay and Debbie.
Services will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church at 22508 Copper Hill Drive Santa Clarita, CA. 91350. Rosary at 10:30am; Mass at 11:00 and reception immediately following from 12:00-3:00 all at St. Kateri. Relatives and friends are invited and welcome to join us as we celebrate Dick's life. We are also asking everyone to bring some nickels and dimes to help fill the Makers Mark bottle we shared a few days before his passing.
We want to thank the nurses, doctors, funeral directors, church personal, family and friends that have been more supportive than we could have asked. The love the family has received after Dick's passing is a true testament to how many lives he touched while he was with us.
Rest in Peace Dad, we love you, miss you and will ALWAYS remember you.
