Hutchins, Robert “Hutch†Joseph, rode off into the sunset June 5, 2004. Hutch was born in Athens, Ohio and moved to California at age 10. In his youth, he was the “All City Yoyo Champion.†While attending RUHS he played basketball and was a member of the 1957-1959 Bay League City Championship team. After his graduation he served in the US Army Corps of Engineers in Georgia and Greenland. He was an avid hunter, bowler, loved to fish, and was a member of the Redondo Beach Elks Lodge. He loved traveling. Among his favorite destinations were Western Canada, Ireland, and cruising down the Mississippi River steamboat style. His favorite trip was a raucous, cuttin’up good time goose hunt in Saskatchewan with all his buddies this past October. Bob loved a good joke and always had a good story to tell - whether you wanted to hear it or not. Hutch owned and operated Hutch’s Plumbing since June 6, 1976. He is survived by his wife…his life partner, Bonnie A. (nee Goldsby) Hutchins and his devoted daughter Francesca Hutchins. Bob’s life was greatly diminished by the loss of his daughter, Tara Eileen Hutchins. Left to mourn him are his parents Robert Rutledge and Alaire Lucille (nee Beckett) Hutchins, his sister Jackie Crow and brother Richard Hutchins. Also left to mourn him are his nieces, nephews, friends, and loyal clientele. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2004 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at White & Day Colonial Mortuary, 901 W. Torrance Blvd. (at Prospect Avenue), Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
