Sheldon, Russell William, MM3, a 20 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Born in Long Beach, CA, Russell was 20 when he died. After graduating from Redondo Beach High School in 2008 he studied physics and Japanese at El Camino Junior College. In 2009 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. At the time of his death he was studying at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command. Russell is survived by Mother, Jennifer Byrd of Redondo Beach, CA; Father, Kenneth Sheldon; Brother, Terrence (Mallory) Sheldon of Okinawa, Japan and Step Father, David Byrd of Redondo Beach, CA. The Service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
