

Hern, Ruth Marion, a 75 year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Torrance. Born in Bolivar, MO, Ruth was 86 when she died. Ruth was a wife and mother for over 71 years. Her home and children were her pride and joy. In her early forty and fifties, she loved to travel with her husband of 72 years. Both she and her husband traveled to Hawaii and Mexico City. In addition they traveled as far as Edmondton, Canada, The San Juan Islands off the state of Washington. They visited most of the South Western states- such as Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado and Mardi gras in New Orleans. They steamed down the Missippi on the Delta Queen.
Ruth and her husband, Frank, spent many vacations on a houseboat with family members and friends on the Sacramento River in CA.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Frances Hern who lives in Palm Desert, Ca. and her son, Jospeh Hern who lives in La Quinta, CA. she has two grandchildren- Erik Bienhoff and his sister Daniell Hern Corbin. Ruth has 3 great grandchildren- Anya Bienhoff, Lilith Bienhoff and a great grandson Evan Corbin.
A viewing for Ruth is on July 3, 2012 from 4pm- 8pm at White & Day Mortuary in Manhattan Beach. A mass is planned for her on July 5, 2012 at 10am at Holy Redeemer Chapel and internment is to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
