Shelby Celestia Lowe

Shelby received her education in Los Angele s County, graduating from high school in the year of 1952. Later in life, Shelby met Theatris McKinley Lowe, and from their union their son Theatris McKinley Lowe Jr. (Flip) was born in 1958.

Shelby worked in a variety of occupational endeavors including a toy store (Eldon's) for over 20 years. However, Shelby began a career as a civil servant with LA County. In the year 1999, she retired from DCSS after 20 years of dedicated service. It was during these memorable years, Shelby was fortunate enough to touch even more lives through the formation of numerous friendships and bonds.

Unfortunately in the year of 2009, Shelby was diagnosed with lung cancer. To no one's dismay, Shelby accepted and carried this cross graciously with and through Christ. On January 16th 2010, our borrowed angel was laid to rest

Shelby was preceded in death by mother (Emma Lou) and father (Henry), two brothers (Lionel and Warren Clemons,), two sisters (Marilyn and Mazie). Left to celebrate and cherish Shelby's memories are her baby sister (Marilyn), son (Flip), grandson (Michael), daughter-in-law (Carol), and a host of family and friends.
