Sheridan Marshall Tande, known always as Marshall, was born June 17, 1940 to Lloyd Tande and Delphine (Gunn) Dvorak in Scobey, Montana. He passed away on August 27, 2025 at the age of 85 in Torrance, California.
Marshall was the third of four children born to them. Marshall's parents divorced when Marshall was quite young. The four children remained with their dad, who sometime later married Francis Potter. Four more siblings were born to his dad and step-mom making a family of eight children. Marshall always had much love and respect for his step-mom and always felt much love from her. Marshall's mom also remarried and had two more children, giving Marshall two more brothers.
Scobey Montana was home growing up. During his teen-age years he was fortunate to work on the Danielson's horse ranch where he learned about and worked with horses. He loved it and for a brief time, before he grew too much, he was a jockey, winning one of his first races. Scobey was home until at age seventeen he joined the Navy. For most of his time serving in the Navy he was on the USS Bryce Canyon out at sea. He enjoyed his time in the Navy and seeing parts of the world that he may never have seen otherwise. When Marshall was discharged from the Navy, he came to Southern California where his older brother and sister had come to live, although Scobey remained in his heart until the end.
After the Navy, Marshall continued with his education and working. In 1968 he began a job at Magnavox Research Lab and continued working there, through company name changes and the company being sold several times, ending up with it being Raytheon, retiring in 2005. Marshall was an engineer and was very intelligent and respected in his field. After he retired, he enjoyed travelling with Beth, playing lots of golf and woodworking in his workshop.
Marshall and Beth Degner met in the 70's and were married in 1977. Marshall brought to the marriage two children, Teri and Kim, and together they had Stacey. He was the ultimate girl dad. He loved them so much and was much loved by them in return.
Marshall is survived by his wife, Beth, his three daughters, Teri (Phil) Dehart, Kim (John) Sabedra, Stacey (Emilio) Estepa, four grandchildren, Joshia (Cynthia) Dehart, Jesse Dehart, Kaitlyn Sabedra and Emily Sabedra, and five great grandchildren. Marshall is also survived by his sister, Sharon Matson, brothers, Alan Tande, Lloyd Tande Jr, and sister Karen Rollis, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and in-laws who loved him so much. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Delphine Dvorak, and Lloyd and Francis Tande, and his sister, Myrna Wells, and brothers, Sherman Tande, Gary Tande, Terry Lee Cowan and James Thomas.
Marshall was a friend to many and dearly loved by his family. We have comfort knowing he is at peace now with our Lord and not suffering anymore.
