Susan was born in Ilford, Essex in England to William and Jean (Findlay) Perry. She moved to Los Angeles in 1983, where she began a successful career as a paralegal, working over the years with a number of well-regarded law firms in their corporate restructuring practices. Susan retired due to her illness in 2017.
Susan was an incredible and exceptional person. She was a loving and doting single mother who always made sure her daughter knew she was loved, supported and cherished. She was an amazing friend who was never too busy to share her quick wit, her quiet wisdom or her sage advice. She was a tireless colleague who gave 150 percent to everything she did. And she was a cat-lover who took in more than one stray cat that showed up at her doorstep looking for a home. Susan lived her life selflessly, repeatedly sacrificing her own happiness for that of others.
Susan loved spending time at the beach (often watching Antoni play volleyball), attending concerts, reading and simply spending time with her daughter and her friends.
Susan’s daughter, Antoni, paid this tribute to her Mom: No longer by my side, but always in my heart. To say the last few months have been tough for my mom is an understatement, but she fought through every single hurdle life threw her way, all with a smile on her face. I will never forget her selflessness; always putting others before herself. She truly is my best friend, my hero, and the person I look up to the most. This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you later. I love you mummy, with all my heart.
Susan’s funeral service will be held at 1pm on June 23, 2018 at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd Street, Redondo Beach California, 90278. A reception will be held immediately thereafter.
