was born in San Pedro January 17, 1921. She passed away January 15, 2014 in Torrance. Born to Jose and Tula (Arviso) Rojo, she is survived by three sons, Steven (Patty), Ted (Sandy) and Bob, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Susanna and Steve Martizia were married in 1939 and lived in San Pedro. They later moved to Harbor City then bought their home where they raised their boys. (Steve preceded her in death in 1995.) Steve was a commercial fisherman then began long shoring where he finished his career.
Susanna became an excellent seamstress and took evening classes to perfect her skill. She also enjoyed knitting and crocket work, but she was most noted for the magic she performed in the kitchen. From tortillas and tamales to carrot and date cake, her family always ate well. A private service will be held at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary on January 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with burial following at Green Hills Memorial Park.
