
She was born on March 7, 1922 in Pitogo Quezon, Philippines to Cirila and Felipe Lorica.
Happily married for many years, she was a wonderful wife to Tomas Caleon Isip and a caring mother to nine children. She is survived by her six children, Carolina (Miguel) Fajardo, Fe (Apolonio-dec.) Magat, Renato
(Dudie) Isip, Elvira (Sid) Magat, Rebecca (Mario) Laureta and Rudy (Laura) Isip; 20 grandchildren, Christina Magat, Dave Magat, Medelyn (Jason) Collado, Diana (Alejandro) Santos, Paul Magat, Odette (Poulle) Manalaysay, Carolyn (Joneph) Pornuevo, John (Melody) Magat, Melissa (Mike Sales) Fajardo, Anthony Magat, Carlo Thomas Isip, Alvaro Fajardo, Thomas Laureta, Maria Cecilia Magat, Harold Laureta, Eric Magat, Karen Kay Laureta, Jonathan (Mae) Isip, Katherine Isip and Karyn Isip; 10 great-grandchildren, Alex Santos, Ashley Magat, Raymond Gaspar, Czarina Pornuevo, Noah Orion Collado, Joshua Isip, Jillian Pornuevo, Xhaiden Manalaysay, Julienne Magat and Lucas Marcelino Collado.
In August 1977, Teofila immigrated to the U.S. and resided with her eldest daughter and son-in-law, Carolina and Miguel Fajardo. While in the U.S., she devoted her time in caring for seven of her 20 grandchildren and lived to see eight of her 10 great-grandchildren. In 2003, she became very ill and was taken care of by her second eldest daughter, Fe Magat.
She had a love for plants and enjoyed watching soap operas, playing cards with family and friends, playing slot machines in Vegas, strolling through the mall and spending time with family.
Teofila was adored by her family and will be truly missed. She will be lovingly remembered for her infectious smile, giving heart, kind eyes and sweet disposition.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 5 pm to 9 pm with a Vigil Service beginning at 7 pm at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Boulevard in Torrance, CA. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 12 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1225 5th Street in Hermosa Beach, CA. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Avenue in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
