

Theodore Teruyoshi Hino passed away on December 19, 2020 from complications of COVID-19 at the age of 87. Ted was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where he discovered two of his lifelong loves-golf and Sonoko “Margaret” Adachi. Ted and Margaret were married in Honolulu in 1959 and were later sealed in the Laie Hawaii Temple. They were blessed with three daughters. They moved to Los Angeles in 1963 where Ted continued his career in banking and accounting while Margaret pursued her career as a junior high school science teacher. Ted was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served valiantly in many important leadership positions, including bishop of the Gardena First Ward. Ted was known and loved for his humility, generosity and kindness to all, especially to those in need. In 2011, Margaret passed away leaving a void in his life. Ted’s life was filled once again with love and companionship when he married Dorothy “Dot” Hallberg in 2012.
He is survived by his three daughters Allison (Mark Wirthlin), Valerie (Tony Di Martino), and Janeen (Marv Baylon); nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother Larry and sisters Mildred Yoshioka and Virginia Uechi. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his parents Yaeko and Hajime and sister Junko.
A private graveside service will be held on January 9, 2021 at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
