Thomas Gayle Kakos

Tomito, age 74, passed away August 28, 2018 in Hermosa Beach, California surrounded by his loved ones. Known for his love and appreciation of the arts,Tomito was truly an artistic alchemist. As a ceramist, painter, photographer, and writer he was always there to inspire and support fellow artists in their creative endeavors. His generous and loving nature was limitless. Tomito often fed passing urban travelers and cared for friends when they were unable to do so for themselves.

A Venice resident for over 40 years, Tomito was known to all as a free-spirited and benevolent individual. Tomito’s accepting and loving soul deeply touched people from all walks of life. His generosity and kind hearted nature will not be soon forgotten.His immeasurable influence and endless loyalty will live forever within the hearts of all those who loved him.

He is survived by his beloved cats Woo, Blackie Girl, and Skandala as well as his first cousins Sonny and Beba, Pat and Karana, and Ett and Marlene. The family extends their deepest gratitude to “Zoe”, “Shannon”, and “Dee” for their loving care and Brian Thomen for his tireless work.
