"Toby" Donald Alexander Tobias

Donald “Toby” Tobias was known for his welcoming and loving nature, great sense of humor, faithfulness, and great laugh. He was the youngest and the fourth Toby of the family as his older sister, and two older brothers were all given the same nickname in college. Born in Fairport Ohio, after graduating from high school, he joined the Navy at age 17. Later, Toby attended Bowling Green State University and graduated with a degree in History. He was an avid Guardians, Browns, and Cavaliers fan through the good and bad.

He was hired by the Eastman Kodak Company in 1963 to work at the World's Fair in New York City. Later, Kodak moved him to San Antonio TX, where he was set up on a blind date whom he later married in 1968. She remained the love of his life for 58 years, his face would light up every time she entered the room even when he could not find the words.

Kodak eventually moved Toby to the Whittier office in LA, and he enjoyed representing Kodak for 28 years. Many friends and family reaped the benefits of his film and developing perks.

Toby was a loving and enthusiastic father, he supported his daughters in virtually every sporting event, and was heard yelling loudly, "sacrifice your body” during their games. He continued this support as an amazing grandfather to his beloved grandsons and would regularly take them to Rocketship Park followed by over-sized ice cream treats.

Toby was an active participant in the community. He played tennis every Saturday morning with his friends which then turned into a regular golf tee time. He also loved being a member of the Breakfast Club where he was willing to do just about anything for a laugh with the Brandalers.

Toby is dearly missed by his wife, two daughters, as well as his grandsons, and son-in-law.
