Tommie was born on the Stateline of Louisiana and Arkansas to the parents Artie Milton Hogue and Dorothy Irene Smith Hogue. She graduated from El Dorado High School in Arkansas in 1951. Tommie was married to Angelo “Buzz” Buzzatto on January 11, 1965; they were married for 41 years until he passed away in 2006. 33 years of her life were dedicated to working as a Supervisor in electrical engineering and wiring systems at Hughes Aircraft and Aerospace in El Segundo. Tommie was the first woman to set foot on a satellite launch pad in Cape Canaveral, FL for Hughes A&A, until retiring at the age of 55. In retirement she had many hobbies such as; fishing and camping at Lake Success, also making Porcelain dolls, and China Painting, which, thereafter, she joined the California Association of Porcelain Artists. Tommie was very involved in the South Bay Branch of the C.A.P.A’s. She was a Past President in 2010 and an officer of the committee for publicity. Eventually her hard work paid off and she won many awards for her art. She’s survived by 5 brothers and 3 sisters: Relda Genice Taylor, Robert Vernon Hogue, Milton Travis Hogue, Donald Joe Hogue, Clois L Catalano, Tony Michael Hogue, Deborah Kay Hogue, and Richard Glenn Hogue, 30 nieces & nephews and countless great nieces & nephews. Tommie will be deeply missed by all and always remembered. The viewing will be held Thursday at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary, 1223 Cravens Ave. Torrance, CA 90501 from 4 pm to 8 pm, the Rosary will being promptly at 7:15 pm and Funeral Services & Mass on Friday 10 am at Saint Catherine Laboure Church, 3846 Redondo Beach Blvd, Torrance, CA and Burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, CA.
