Virgil Johnson of Redondo Beach, CA passed away on January 24, 2015 at the age of 94. He was born on October 3, 1920 in Harrisburg, Nebraska to Anna Olsen and Emil Johnson. He grew up on a farm and was one of 13 children. After being drafted to the Army in World War II, Virgil was sent to Oregon and Los Angeles to serve as a guard and technician. He married Joyce Norton in 1945 and moved to Redondo Beach in 1949 where they lived together for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Shelly Johnson and Lynne Barre; and son, Neal Johnson.
