Wayne W Aichroth was born in Chicago,Illinois on September 16, 1934. He went to college at Notre Dame and after graduation moved to California to work as an aeronautical engineer. He met the love of his life Nicasia (Casey) at a church singles group in Hawthorne California and they were married in 1959. They purchased their first home that same year in Torrance, California and they have resided there ever since.
After working at TRW for many years, Wayne switched gears and became a realtor and real estate investor. With his engineering background he loved to work on the homes himself and recruited family members to join (not always happily). Wayne loved to travel and was the planner of two 6 month treks to Europe while camping in a VW bus, summer cross country vacations and too many cruises to count. Wayne had many hobbies including building model airplanes, creating model train villages, flying airplanes, reading and gardening in his beautiful garden. The thing that brought him the most joy though was his family. He was an amazing husband, brother, brother-in-law, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather (for one day) and uncle. He was always generous had a big smile for family members whose lives were enriched by his presence. He will be missed terribly and remembered lovingly.
Wayne passed away on September 15, 2026 and is survived by his beloved wife Nicasia (Casey), daughters Nina (Mike) and Geri, son Donald (Lindsay) grandchildren Jake, Casey, Adam, Alex, Claire, James and Lara and great granddaughter Kiara.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held on November 21, 2026 from 12-4pm at the Shapiro residence: 550 24th Street in Hermosa Beach, California.
