William (Billy) Joseph Chaffee, age74, from Torrance, quietly slipped away to join his loved ones in heaven on Saturday, August 2, 2014. He is preceded by his mother, a brother, his sisters and his daughter. Billy was born in Providence, Rhode Island on 6-8-1940. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked many years as a cement truck driver. In his retirement he met the love of his life, his soul mate, his “Glo Honey” and became a loving father to her daughter. He was proud of nothing more than his three grandchildren. He loved working on home improvements around the house and shooting pool with his good friend Jimmy. He is survived by his wife Gloria, his daughter Alice, his grandchildren, Isaac, Shawn and Katie and his dear brother Frank. After some time of mourning there will be a small private service to fulfill his final request to be scattered at sea. He was a kind, generous, gentle soul who will be deeply missed by many people and by his beloved dog Lucy.
