
Bill, a 47 year resident of Torrance, passed away on October 15, 2017. He was born in Colorado, August 5, 1930. Bill was 87 years old. He came to California in 1952 after graduating from the University of Colorado and receiving his commission in the Navy. After two years active duty during the Korean War, he married and settled in San Diego. There he started his engineering career in aerospace. Bill and his wife Marian moved to the South Bay in 1960 and to Torrance in 1970. He retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1986 and worked in real estate until 1994. Bill enjoyed square dancing and wood carving and was a long time member of Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach. He is survived by his children William S. Cook, Karen Husmann and Linda Brodie, his sisters Vivian McBride and Rosanne Conley as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 28, 2017, 11 a.m. at Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charities listed below.
