William Thomas Hynes, Jr.

Bill Hynes, beloved husband and father of seven, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. Born in San Francisco, the oldest of three, he served in the Air Force, the U.S. Forest Service, and was graduate from San Francisco State. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Peggy, daughters Margie Hynes, Ellie Adamson, Katie Hynes-Petty, Sue Vandehey, Mary Ellen Hynes, his son Edward Hynes; his brother Richard Hynes, sister Jane Gregory; and his three grandchildren: Hannah and James Hynes-Petty, and Larissa Vandehey. He was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Hynes, July 13, 2006. Bill, 78, was a forty-three year resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, and worked in aerospace for thirty-five years at North American Rockwell.

The Rosary will be Sunday, September 10, 2006, 7:00 pm at McCormick Mortuary, 1998 S. Pacific Coast Highway, in Redondo Beach. The funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 11, 12:30 pm at St. John Fisher, 5448 Crest Rd, Rancho Palos Verdes. The burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, with reception to follow at St. John Fisher Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: 'The William Reese Petty Memorial Fund' care of: Katie Hynes-Petty, 2735 Olive Street, Eugene, OR 97405. The fund is for the grandchildren, due to son-in-law, William Petty's unexpected passing at age 52, March 30, 2006.
