William Henry Ruiz

Ruiz, William Henry, a 3 year resident of Brea, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in Brea. Born in Wilmington CA, William was 85 when he died. He lived in Redondo Beach for 45 years where he worked as a masonry contractor and owned his own business, S & S Masonry. He had 2 natural born children with his first wife, Rojean, who passed away with cancer in 1974. He remarried in 1982 to Christine who had 3 children. He graduated from Banning High School in 1945. He served as an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Bill enjoyed dancing and playing golf. He was a fan of USC football and attended as many games as he could. Bill was dedicated to his family and his work. He enjoyed life to the fullest. William is survived by wife, Christine Ruiz of Brea, CA; Daughter, Susan Ruiz of Torrance, CA; Son, Scott Ruiz of Torrance, CA; Step Son, Bob Moreno of San Pedro, CA; Step Daughter, Tina Maldonado of Fullerton, CA; Step Son, Michael Moreno of Norwalk, CA; sister, Nellie Hernandez; sister, Amanda Barrera; sister, Candy Espinoza; sister, Elizabeth Abundis and ten grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Candelaria Ruiz; sister, Simona Ruiz; brother, Andrew Ruiz; and sister Irene Ruiz. The Memorial service will be held at Rice Mortuary on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 1:30 PM followed by a gathering of family and friends in the Rice Lighthouse Reception Room from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Burial will be at noon on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
