
Schultz Sr., William Carl a 59 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2000 in Torrance. Born in Chicago, IL, William was 72 when he died. William was a Torrance High School graduate, served in the United States Army(2-21-50 to 2-25-53) in the Fifth Cav Regm. during the Korean conflict and received two Bronze Service Stars and a Purple Heart. He was employed by the City of Torrance for forty three years (August 1953 to 12-22-94), gave his heart to his job and dedicated his life to the city. He was honored upon his retirement by the City of Torrance and Torrance Police Department for his dedication, professionalism and contributions by City Resolution 94-152 signed by Mayor Dee Hardison on 12-06-1994. He is survived by Wife, Shirley Ruth Schultz of Norwalk, CA; Sons William Carl Schultz, Jr. of Bellflower, CA and Steven Curtis (Susan) Schultz of Bellflower, CA; Daughters Vicky Darlene (Robert) Lish of Las Vegas, NV and Gail Morgan of Lomita, CA; Grandson, Jason Dale Schultz of Bellflower, CA; Sisters Peggy (Byron) Pickett of Durango, CO and Lona (Max) Wise of OR; Brothers Donald (Margaret) Schultz of Carson, CA and Robert Barnhart of Lawndale, CA; Nephew, Keith Pickett of Irvine, CA and Nieces Darlene (Ron) Pyles of Torrance, CA, Melissa (George) Cronin of Gardena, CA and Martha Dee (Steve) Phitts of Temecula, CA. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2000, December 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be Friday, December 29, 2000 at the First United Methodist Church of Torrance at 11:00 AM and at Riverside National Cemetery Staging Area # 2 at 2:15.
