Grace Ann Stone

She attended East Granby, CT, schools, Greenfield Community College, and Mount Holyoke College. For many years, Grace worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Bristol Hospital in Connecticut, as well as, Grace Cottage, and Mount Ascutney Hospitals in Vermont.

Early in her life Grace enjoyed competitive horse-back riding, hiking, camping, and vacationing with family in Maine. Recently she loved caring for her four cats and spending time with her nine grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, Grace is survived by Chet Stone and her three sons, Stephen Lawley (Cindy) of South Newfane, Todd Lawley of Newfane (Catrina of Brattleboro), and Scott Lawley (Anne) of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Nancy Calabrese of CT; and two brothers, Peter Viets (Cynthia) of Granby, CT, and James Viets .

Friends may celebrate Grace’s life at Newbrook Fire Station, Newfane, VT, on Sunday, April 15, at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Grace’s honor be made to Windham County Humane Society (916 West River Road, PO Box 397 Brattleboro, VT 05302) or Newbrook Volunteer Fire Department (Rt 30, Newfane, VT 04345).
