Alex has touched my heart and life. Laura and Dan, you raised an amazing girl. I miss her so much. She was a very dear friend.

Three days and it will be a year since Alex left us. It is hard to believe that it's real. She is in my mind every day for one reason or another. Hard to put into words how i really feel. Losing a child is so hard to imagine. Carrying her inside my body for nine months, feeling her grow and move, giving birth to her and watching her grow from infancy to toddler and then little girl and soon a young woman...how can she be gone? I feel a part of me is gone too. I go to her grave frequently maybe to remind myself that it is true...she is not coming back. It has become a place of comfort for me in a strange way. I enjoy decorating her space and making it festive for each holiday. Dropping by in the summer and just sitting for a moment to reflect. I know she isnt there..she is with her Lord. But its a place to go where her physical body still lies. Someday we will be together again....til then i will care for her grave and remember her with love.

it almost been a year since Alex left this world. Its been a difficult one for those of us who are left. Her son has been a blessing to us as we carry on without her. She certainly had her ups and downs in life and many bumps in the road. She was just getting her life on the track that she was happy with and we were all happy for that. She is missed very much because she was the brightest star. We have many good memories and will pass those along to Tristen. She wont be forgotten and one day we will see her again. This year has been hardest on her mother and father (Laura and Dan) its the hardest thing to loose a child. Alex lived with me and was a force of nature. We miss her too, its been difficult on a daily level to not have her come home. It was always "an entrance" you could not miss her. So many reminders each day that she was not coming back. Tristen is so much like her in so many ways so we will always have her close to us. We visit her grave often and decorate for her. It gives us a place to focus on even though we know she is not there. So this year ends and we move on, but with hope in our hearts and the sadness for those left here, not for her, she is with her Lord and no doubt causing mischief on some level, it would not be Alex otherwise. I've not seen alex since eighth grade and just recently learned of her passing but even though i only knew her that short time in eighth grade I've never forgotten her. she was a beautiful soul and will remain through us all. ill never forget you alex.

Dear Alex, I have not known what to say, its been awhile since you left us. Your son is filling my days and my heart. I miss you and I know he does too. He is so small he can not put it into words but I know he looks for you to come through that door. It makes me sad to know that he will grow up without you. I am glad we spoke the night before. I told you what a great mum you were and how well you were doing with your career and school and juggling it all. You had some worries but were as contented as you have ever been with your life. You had a great deal to be proud of. 
Everyone deals with grief in their own way, as we get older we learn to deal with it unfortunatly and with Tristen here we do not dwell on it. We know you are safe and with the Lord and that we will see you again soon. Till then I am reminded of you daily in the eyes of your son and will miss you always

We were as close as an Uncle and a Niece could be. I thought of you as my friend and tried to help you through your rough patches. We enjoyed our trips together to Chicago and Kentucky twice. We used to communicate frequently about anything. The last few years you pulled away but it didn't change the way I felt about you. I just happened across your bucket list on one of your websites and can proudly say I contributed a fair amount of your check marks. I was proud of you and tried to encourage you to do more than you thought you were capable of. Thanks for our short time together.

I haven't been able to think of any else except this young girl's life that was taken from her family this past Monday. She was a daughter that was loved by her family and friends and a great mom that her child will only know from family and friends. I have only known her a short time through my son. Saw her as a beautiful person. God watch over them all.

Alex, even tho we weren't close from what I known and seen you are an amazing person, you have, some how touch every single person you meet in a way that it's so unique. But that it's what makes you.Which is something I admire from you, you were always your self.The memories we have shared will be cherish in my heart and hope some day to see you in God's world. You will be miss, most defiantly.

Alex you will be missed by everyone you knew. You will always have a place in my heart and you'll never be forgoten in my eyes i will miss you forever.

I met Alex when we shared a room while she was pregnant. I'll never forget the joy on her face when she showed me her first ultrasound of that little guy. The next day I surprised her with a miniature photo album she could decorate just for Tristen. She was beaming as she showed me the finished album and was always glowing when she showed it to anyone and everyone she could! She wanted to be a mom, a good mom, I know she accomplished that! We will miss her tremendously but will ALWAYS remember her beautiful smile. Prayers to the families to find the strength to raise her "little man" in her honor.

Dear Lord find it in your heart to comfort those Alexandra leaves behind. Care for her young son, keep him close and safe. She will be remembered. Help her family and friends during this difficult time. Help them heal, for she leads the way for us all. Heaven is blessed with Alexandra being it's newest angel. She will be Tristen's guardian angel forever and ever.

Alex, I sit here and struggle to find the right words. When my mom was in the hospital and I needed someone to talk to you were right there. I will never forget all the advice you have given me along the way. I will never forget the time when Tristen, you, Jess, Josh, Maddi and I got together and had a play date. May you rest in peace girl.

Alex and I went to high school together; we didn't really know each other but we've always been connected via facebook and over the past few years, I've watched her post updates to her life and pictures as she has grown and matured, and I was amazed and thrilled and so proud of the way she was living her life and working so unfailingly hard. 
She was a strong student, a determined woman, and a wonderful mother. Her son is beautiful and she was so clearly paving a way for a blessed life for them both. 
I hope that every time you look at Tristen, you see Alex's bravery and determination, and her never-failing positive attitude. 
I'm so sorry for your loss, and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I too was touched by Alex's warmth and beauty of spirit when she used to come to our unit and spread her joyful spirit on the floor to both patients and staff. I could see that she went out of her way to brighten other people's days with her friendly smile--or even something like going into the pantry early so she made sure that fresh coffee was made for the patients and staff when they started the shift. I have seldom witnessed such thoughtfulness displayed in the little details that mean so much, and that often go unnoticed or are seldom acknowledged. What a blessing to have been touched by such a beautiful soul. She will be greatly missed.

Alex brought sunshine to everyone who came in contact with her - she was adored and will be greatly missed.

I don't know you but having lost my 18 year old daughter a few years ago I have some sense of your sorrow.  I'm am truly sorry for what you are going through but I am thankful to hear Alexandra knew the Lord.  Life is hard but God is still good.  In John 16:33 Jesus tells us "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." You may get angry with God but know that he is your anchor and only hope.

I live thousands of miles from Traverse City and knew Alexandra only from photographs and from her grandmother's emails, but the loss of a bright young life is everybody's loss and I, too, feel sorrow.

I had only a few brief talks with Alexandra while she was cleaning the locker room on A3, but I could tell what a wonderful, beautiful gal she was. Danny, she talked highly of you and the support and encouragement you would give her, it was evident the love she has for her Father.
