Anthony Marcus Steele

Anthony M. Steele 39, of Traverse City died on Wednesday June 15, 2011 at Spectrum Health Care in Grand Rapids, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 17, 1971 in Cheboygan the son of Gary Steele and Mary Shikoski.

Anthony married April D. Walter on August 10, 1996 in Traverse City. He was employed at the Manistee Inn and Marina as the Operations Manager.

Anthony loved sports and enjoyed watching the University of Michigan and the Detroit Redwings. He always said when you cut him he will bleed maze and blue and he roots for two teams U of M and anyone who beats State. Anthony truly loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, April D. Steele of Traverse City, his children; Kaitlyn Steele, Logan Steele and A J Steele, his parents Tom and Mary Shikoski and Laura Steele, two brothers; Aaron (Cindy) Steele and John (Kathy) Steele, three sisters; Tara (Roger) Steffes, Christina (Greg) Ogden and Jenny (Kurt) Baney, Numerous nieces , nephews, and cousins. Anthony was preceded in death by his father Gary Steele.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2011 from 11am- 2pm at West Side Community Church, 4975 M-72 West, Traverse City with services starting at 2pm also at the church.

Anthony’s family has requested casual attire and that you join them in wearing your maze and blue in his honor, no green and white will be allowed in the big house today.
