Ethel E. Adams

Ethel E. Adams, age 87, of Traverse City passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Traverse Manor surrounded by her family. She was born December 23, 1926 in Cheboygan, MI to Ernest and Gertrude (Carr) Wheelock. She married the late Stanley E. Adams on September 7, 1957 in Traverse City. Together they raised 6 children.

Ethel was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and she worked at the First Christian Church as an Edifier. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, collecting light houses and spoons, baking, playing cards, traveling around the states and camping. She loved her family and friends and loved spending time with them.

Ethel will be greatly missed by her children: Robert (Carol) Adams, Marcia (Roger) Dickinson, Deborah (Dave) Roosevelt, and Cathy (Mike) Foster; sister Mary Wartella; sisters-in-law Barbara and Ada Wheelock; 15 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, 2 brothers, Orville & Glenn, a daughter Cheryl, a son Stanley L (Butch), 1 granddaughter, Cherilyn and a grandson Joey.

A memorial service will be held for Ethel on August 9, 2014 at 11 am, with visitation one hour prior at the First Christian Church in Traverse City.

Memorial contributions in Ethel’s name may be directed to Munson Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
