Gertrude Romanchuk of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on February 24, 2020.

Gertrude was born to the late Stanley and Martha (Starosta) Przytulski on May 23, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan.

Gertrude married the late Michael Romanchuk on February 10, 1940 and they spent the next 69 wonderful years together.

Four days after marrying, Michael was deployed to the China Burma India Theatre and returned safely 4 years later. Never a day passed that Mom did not write to Dad in hopes of boosting his spirit.

Gertrude was preceded in death by husband Michael, daughter Diane Vitalone, and brother Leonard Jay. Mom was also preceded in death by two lifelong friends, Helen Pagoto, and Audrey Richardson.

Gertrude is survived by daughter, Susan Tew, grandsons, Christopher Konn, and John Vitalone, and granddaughter Donna Marie Vitalone. She has 2 surviving cousins, Mary Ann Raider, and "Duke" Weier. She is also survived by lifelong friends, JoAnn Lee, and Cori Oakley.

A Catholic Burial Mass will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on 630 S. West Silver Lake Rd. Viewing will be held in the vestibule of the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. just prior to mass.

She will be dearly missed. Always Loving, Always Loved.
