Gloria I. Monroe

Gloria married Robert Monroe in Traverse City. They were married for 45 years and together raised 4 sons. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Gloria spent her entire life in Traverse City and was a lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Gloria is survived by her sons: Max, Jim (Pat), Bob (Cathy), and Mark Monroe; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughter-in-law Sherry and granddaughter Anita; brothers: James, Leo, Vernon, Marquis, Glen, and Maxwell, sisters: Beverly and Pauline.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Grand Traverse Pavilions. She had many friends and care givers there, they were like a second family.

A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 am at St. Francis Catholic Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
