OBITUARY

Isabelle A. Rice

March 21, 1931December 26, 2020

Isabelle “Ann” Rice, 89, of Traverse City passed away on Saturday December 26th, 2020 at Cherry Hill Haven. Ann was born March 21, 1931 to Ruth (Courtade) and Albert Noteware.

Ann grew up in Traverse City and worked 18 years for the Traverse City Intermediate School District, in the Administration Office, until her retirement on May 15, 1991. Ann met Charles Burke of Traverse City and they were married on January 31, 1964. Ann and Charles had a son Michael Burke of Traverse City.

After Charles Burke Passing, Ann met Leroy Rice of Traverse City and they were married on August 8th, 1976. Ann and Leroy made their home on Spider Lake, Williamsburg and later in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Ann loved to read and play cards. She had a special love and interest in all kinds of birds.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Albert Noteware, husband Charles Burke, husband Leroy Rice, Brother Joseph ‘Dick’ Noteware and brother in-law Tom Mack

Ann is survived by her son Michael Burke, step-daughter Christine (Robert) Johnson, step-son Anthony (Sheryl) Rice, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, Brother Tom (Barb) Noteware, Sister Barb (Jim) Curnow, Sister Esther Mack and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann will be dearly missed by those who knew her and loved her.

Special Thanks to the Staff at Cherry Hill Haven for the loving care that was given to Ann over the last few years. Any memorial contributions can be sent to Cherry Hill Haven- Employee fund in memory of Ann.

Also a special thank you to Hospice of Northern Michigan for their loving care and support to Ann and the family in the final days.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4 from 1 to 4 at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.

A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at a later date.
