Katrina Leone May

Katrina was born Oct. 10, 1975, in Flint, the daughter of Roger and Rosanda (Rosie) Shelley. Jan. 31, 2009, marked a joyful wedding and new beginning upon her marriage to Martin M. May, of Traverse City.

Katrina relished being a wife and mother, and was devoted to her husband and children. As a mother, Katrina avidly supported breast feeding and the positive effects it has on infant development. She and Marty had recently purchased a house and Katrina was invested in turning it into a happy home for her family.

Katrina is survived by her husband, Martin M. May; daughters, Maisey M. May, Makenzie Rose Shelley; son, Dakotah Tarrant; her parents, Roger and Rosie Shelley; siblings, Roger Jr. (Sandi) Shelley, George (Bobbie) Shelley, and Ben (Brandy) Shelley; and numerous extended family.

Per Katrina's wishes, a cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Covell Funeral Home, 232 East State Street, Traverse City. Please join the family at the Cottage Cafe, 420 Munson Ave., immediately following.
