Keith Elton Sheldon, age 88, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born April 4, 1928 in Traverse City, to Harold and Adela (Ryon) Sheldon. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy.
Keith was the owner and operator of the Knollwood Motel and Shadowland Motor Lodge in Traverse City for over 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, and riding around on his scooter. He was a hard-working man who always provided for his family.
Keith is survived by his children, Don (Charlene) of Traverse City, Gregory (Kathy) of Traverse City, Gary of Higgins Lake, Keiren (Ken) Snyder of Royal Oak, Kevin (Una) of Tampa, FL., Bruce (Melanie) of Valparaiso, IN., Diane (Marvin) Hagelberg of Traverse City, and Shawn (Jennifer) of Cheboygan; son-in-laws Richard Sleder of Traverse City and Phil Mooney of Shelby Twp.; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sandra Wurm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his daughters Linda Sleder and Sharon Mooney; and his second wife, Doris.
Visitation took place Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City with burial immediately following at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
