Margaret E. School

Margaret “Marge” E. School, age 86 of Lake Ann died Dec. 3, Marge was born in Elberta, MI. on May 19, 1934 to Alfred and Nettie (Lipe) Podleski. She attended and graduated from TC Central High School in 1952, and continued her education at Northwestern Michigan College. She had a very successful career in the banking industry, and was employed with TC State Bank and later Old Kent where she moved up the ladder and retired as branch manager.

While raising her own family, she was very involved in the foster care system, taking in numerous children throughout the years. She was an avid gardener, and relished in spending many hours attending to her beautiful flowers and plants. Most importantly, her family as well as her clients and friends remember her as being compassionate, kind, and generous to everyone.

She is survived by her daughter Kristie Drude and son Brent School, as well as siblings Robert (Connie) Podleski, Kenn Podleski, and Vickie Beson (Chuck). She is preceded in death by her son Craig, sister Dorothy Goddard, brother James Podleski, and nephew James Podleski.

A private funeral service will be held at Northern Lakes Community Church, with a graveside service open to friends at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, December 9th at 1:00 p.m.
