Pamela Jo Russell

Pamela was born on Sept. 26, 1962, in Traverse City, the daughter of Eddie and Clara (Sams) Russell.

She attended Elk Rapids High School, then NMC and CMU.

In 1987 she met Michael Wilson and soon realized she would spend her life with him.

Pamela was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Working as their legal secretary, she was instrumental in implementing Per Cap.

There was always a special place in her heart for her grandma, Jo, who taught Pamela the importance of caring for others. Pamela was a strong woman with a free spirit. She enjoyed beading, making dream catchers and spending time with family and friends.

Pamela is survived by her father, Eddie Russell; husband, Mike Wilson; sons, Jacob Wilson and Joshua (Sarah Dinkelo) Wilson; granddaughter, Ivy Rose Wilson; and siblings, Mark Russell, Raymond J. (Bernice) Russell, Becky (Tom) Kalush and David (Billi Jo) Russell.

Pamela’s mother, Clara Russell, preceded her in death.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pamela’s caregivers, Stephanie and Cassandra.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at 1 p.m., at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour before the funeral, all at the funeral home.
