Robert D. Heuss

Robert D. Heuss, age 89, a life-long resident of Traverse City, died December 17, 2011. Robert was born May 11, 1922 the son of Jakob and Anna Heuss in the same house he lived in his whole life. An avid gardener, he loved flowers and taking care of his yard. Bob retired after many years of service at Cone Drive and he was a long-time member of the Lion’s Club, he was also the “unofficial” family historian, collecting things from the entire family throughout the years. He is survived by his sister, Louise Heisel and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by his brothers, Leon, Merrill, Richard, Raymond, Jacob (Ken), and sister Gladys. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 – 11:00 a.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.CovellFuneralHomes.com .
