Robert K. Wilkinson

Robert K. Wilkinson Sr., age 68, of Alden passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Munson Medical Center. He was born April 10, 1946 in Albany, NY to Robert A. and Charlotte (Lamb) Wilkinson. Bob married Vanessa G. Barnett on July 13, 1985 in Kalkaska at the Peoples Church.

Bob was a “Jack of all trades and a master of none”. He would help anyone with anything. He would often salvage old homes and use the material on other projects. He was a kind and generous person who lived life to its fullest. Never wanting to take the easy way, Bob would travel the U.S. with a map in his hand and a mattress in the back of his pickup. He loved to drive and knew of places that most people don’t know exist. Besides traveling, Bob loved the outdoors and old cars. If he wasn’t on the road he was puttering around the house fixing and building things. He could put anyone to shame when it came to eating ice cream. Saying he loved it is putting it mildly. Bob also loved to sing and dance.

Bob will be greatly missed by his wife Vanessa; children: Cheri (Michael) Kupczyk of Oshkosh, WI and Robert (Sammy Davis) Wilkinson Jr. of Tekonsha, MI; 3 grandchildren: Hope and Brayden Kupczyk and Marlee McBride and one on the way; Siblings: Susan Wilkinson, Sherry Wilkinson, Joseph Perry Wilkinson, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 12:30 to 3 at Helena Township Community Center, 8751 Helena Rd, Alden, MI 49612.
