Sharon was born on August 3, 1942 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Rawson) Churchill. She was raised in Dearborn and moved to Detroit when she was 12. Sharon graduated from Redford High School in 1960, where she was in the band and a much better athlete than her sister and brother. She later graduated from Eastern Michigan University and became a Home Economics teacher for 30 years. She taught in Grand Rapids and at an alternative high school for pregnant teens in Florida. Sharon loved to sew and cook, and always had the heart and motivation for teaching. As a child, she even taught her sister how sneak out of the house, so they could get ice cream in the middle of the night.
Sharon is survived by her children, Laura (Chris) Boydston and Robert (Shelley) Wright; grandchildren, Alysse Boydston and Rachel Wright; great grandchildren, Jillean and Nathan Wright; sister, Sandy (Jim) Steed; nephew, Jim Steed; niece, Jennifer (Duane) Clapp; and several cousins living in Southeast Michigan.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Harold and Alice (Rawson) Churchill; husband and father to her children, Lawrence Wright, whom she married in 1961; husband, Arthur Wilson, whom she married in 1983; brother, Thomas (Marilyn) Churchill; and aunts, Margaret (Rawson) and Bill Cryer, Ruth (Rawson) and Jim Mohler and uncle; Stewart Rawson.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dan & Kathy Flansburg and staff at Morning Dove AFC for the tender & loving care shown to Sharon during an extended battle with Alzheimer's.
