Walter Leroy Frey

Walter Leroy Frey, age 91 of Cedar, passed away on October 3, 2014. Loving husband of 71 years to Lois. Cherished father of Walter (Judy), Ken (Linda), Robert (Lisa) and Jeff (Kathy). Dear grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 8. Walter is preceded in death by his parents; Mathew and Suzanna Frey and brothers; Al and Mathew Frey. Walt moved to Cedar from Chicago in 1968. His numerous volunteer activities included the Chamber of Commerce, EMS, firefighting, probation officer, various church offices and Sunday school teaching. Walt was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving combat duty in the Pacific. Walt reflected that he was most proud of raising four boys with his wife, Lois. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Good Harbor with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 2943 S. Manitou Trail, Cedar, MI 49621 are appreciated.
