Yvonne J. Schmitz, beloved wife of 68 years to Bernard D. Schmitz, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at age 92. She was a fabulous mother to Diane Robinson (Dan), Donna Fiebig, David (Jackie), Debra Lynch (Patrick), Dean (Barb), Denise Wulf, and Dawn Hemming (Jed), grandmother to 17 and great-grandmother to nine. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, daughter, Diane Robinson, and granddaughter, Lauren Hemming.
She devoted herself to helping to raise her large family, then worked for a time in real estate. Upon retirement, she and Bernie invested much time with their ever growing family, enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and entertaining many friends. They were blessed beyond belief!
The visitation on Wednesday, October 3, at 4 pm - 7 pm, and funeral service on Thursday, October 4, at 10:30 am, will be held at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Memorials may be directed to the Women’s Resource Center.
